Banana Cream Dessert

BANANA CREAM DESSERT

3 CUPS GRAHAM CRACKER CRUMBS (ABOUT 48 SQUARES)
1/2 CUP BUTTER, MELTED
3-1/2 CUPS COLD MILK
2 PACKAGES (3.4 OZS.EACH) INSTANT FRENCH VANILLA OR REGULAR VANILLA PUDDING MIX
5 MEDIUM FIRM BANANAS
1 CAN (20 OZS.) CRUSHED PINEAPPLE
2 (8 OZ.) CARTONS COOL WHIP THAWED
1/3 CUP CHOPPED PECANS (OPTIONAL)
DARK CHOCOLATE SHAVINGS ( I USE DOVE CHOCOLATE, BUT YOU CAN USE ANY KIND).
MARASCHINO CHERRIES, DRAINED AND CHOPPED

COMBINE CRACKER CRUMBS AND BUTTER. PRESS INTO AN UNGREASED 13-IN. X 9 IN. X 2 IN. PAN. IN A MIXING BOWL, BEAT MILK AND PUDDING MIX ON LOW SPEED FOR 2 MINUTES. POUR OVER CRUST: TOP WITH SLICED BANANAS AND PINEAPPLE. SPREAD WITH COOL WHIP (DISH WILL BE FULL). SPRINKLE WITH PECANS, IF DESIRED. GARNISH WITH CHOCOLATE SHAVINGS AND CHERRIES IF DESIRED. YIELD: 16 TO 20 SERVINGS.
