Old fashioned Shortcake

I just had to try a different type shortcake for some strawberries the other night.
I pulled out an old cookbook that I don't use very often.
This sounded interesting, it is baked in a cast iron pan.

1/3 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
2 beaten eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla

Mix all ingredients well and pat into greased 10" iron skillet, bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

Cut into wedges and add your fresh fruit.

It was wonderful.  You might want to try it with some fresh strawberries from the Ogle strawberry patch!
